چکیده

In this contribution we describe computational tools that permit the evaluation of multi-loop scattering amplitudes in N = 8 supergravity, in terms of amplitudes in N = 4 super-Yang-Mills theory. We also discuss the remarkable ultraviolet behavior of N = 8 supergravity, which follows from these amplitudes, and is as good as that of N = 4 super-Yang-Mills theory through at least four loops. ∗ Invited talk presented by L.D. at XVI European Workshop on String Theory, Madrid, June 14-18, 2010 1 Work supported in part by US Department of Energy contract DE-AC02-76SF00515.

We study the attractor mechanism for N = 1 supergravity coupled to vector and chiral multiplets and compute the attractor equations of these theories. These equations may have solutions depending on the choice of the holomorphic symmetric matrix f ΛΣ which appears in the kinetic lagrangian of the vector sector. Models with non trivial electric-magnetic duality group which have or have not attra...

Cern-th/2002-346 Ucla/02/tep/36

We consider the interplay of duality symmetries and gauged isometries of supergravity models giving N -extended, spontaneously broken supergravity with a no-scale structure. Some examples motivated by superstring and M-theory compactifications are described. Invited paper to appear in the review section of the “International Journal of Modern Physics A”.

It is argued that N=6 supergravity on AdS5, with gauge group SU(3) × U(1) corresponds, at the classical level, to a subsector of the “chiral” primary operators of N=4 Yang-Mills theories. This projection involves a “duality transformation” of N=4 Yang-Mills theory and therefore can be valid if the coupling is at a self-dual point, or for those amplitudes that do not depend on the coupling const...

Evidence for the Discrete Asymptotically-Free BFKL Pomeron from HERA Data

We show that the next-to-leading-order renormalization-group-improved asymptoticallyfree BFKL Pomeron provides a good fit to HERA data on virtual photoproduction at small x and large Q. The leading discrete Pomeron pole reproduces qualitatively the Q dependence of the HERA data for x ∼ 10, and a fit using the three leading discrete singularities reproduces quantitatively the Q and x dependence ...
